The Story

Working with PLD and sputtering thin films at a leading thin films lab, we were consistently be let down by expensive target suppliers who delivered substandard products and waiting months for them to arrive.  This did not help achieve the goal of cutting edge research!!

We started making targets for ourselves, then collaborators from other universities. It became clear that we needed put some dedicated attention towards the issue and in 2016, we solidified a team with over 40 years of expertise in material science, thin films, sintering and powder metallurgy. With the goal of making targets that fit the needs of researchers, we built relationships with raw materials manufactures, we designed and build our pellet dies, high pressure cold isostatic press (CIP) and even hot presses to achieve superior densities.

In 2017 we started to tackle the next issue for thin film researchers... substrates. Substrates can be one of the biggest expenditures for a thin film lab. We have streamlined this process specifically for the needs of research labs and are very pleased to top quality single crystal substrates at excellent prices. Compare us to your usual supplier. If we don't already beat it we'll try!!

What's next: We don't want to sell you one target or pack of substrates, we wish to build a long lasting relationship with you laboratory, understanding what you need and delivering just that.
